Shirley A. Cowell, 78, of Marysville, KS, died Friday, January 3, 2014, at her home. Visitation was Monday, January 6, from 1 to 9 p.m., at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 7, at Kinsley Mortuary. Daniel Richardson officiated. Music included “Old Rugged Cross”, “Amazing Grace”, “I Can Only Imagine” and “Wings on a Dove”. The pallbearers were Ed Morris, Matt Garza, Marty Warner, Tom Temple, Dale Richardson and Shane Talbot. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Shirley was born August 29, 1935, at Marysville, daughter of Orville and Florabelle (Stoner) Bigham. She attended school at Marysville and in 1952 married Marvin Cowell. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin Edward Cowell, on August 29, 2006; and daughter, Stephanie Lynn Morris, on June 18, 2008. Survivors include daughters, Susan L. Warner and her husband Gary, Topeka; and Sandra J. Hunt, Axtell, KS; sons-in-law, Robert E. Talbot, Axtell, and Ed Morris, Marysville; sister, Pat Bierbaum and husband David, Dalhart, TX; two brothers, Mert Bigham and wife Jeannette, Topeka, and Jerry Bigham, Milford, NE; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
