Rachel B. Swanson

Rachel Swanson, 18, of Frankfort, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008, near Frankfort. Rachel was born March 7, 1990, at Topeka, KS. She attended Jeff West USD #340 schools until her sophomore year then attended Frankfort High School for her junior year, 2007-2008. A funeral service was held in Frankfort on Friday, June 20, 2008, 2:30 p.m., at the Frankfort High School. Pastor Marilyn Wullschleger officiated. Jane Sedlacek played the organ while Amy Jacques sang "You Raise Me Up", "The Prayer" and "Wind Beneath My Wings". A funeral service was also held in Meriden, KS, on Saturday, June 21, 2:00 p.m., at the Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home. Pastor Kevin Williams officiated. Music was "Jesus, Take the Wheel". Pallbearers were Travis Perry, Steven Alber, Lonnie Hawkins, Del White, Josh Markley and Chris Markley. Burial was in the Meriden City Cemetery. Rachel enjoyed music. She participated in vocal competitions, played the French Horn and loved riding motorcycles. She also enjoyed walking and visiting with people of all ages. She worked at Cambridge Nursing Home in Marysville, KS, and was in the process of obtaining certification as a CNA. Survivors include her parents; Kim and Del White, Meriden; four sisters, Lacy White, Bailey White, both of Silver Lake, KS, Riley White, St. Mary's, KS, and McKenzie Allen, Topeka; one brother, Cameron White, Meriden, KS; grandparents, James and Karen Alber, Frankfort,, Barb Alber, Topeka,, and Ray and Janet White, Meriden; and great-grandparents, Luellan Smith, Meriden, and Willard and Geraldine White, Topeka. She was preceded in death by one infant brother. A memorial has been established and contributions maybe sent in care of Padden Funeral Home, 101 E. 3rd, Frankfort, KS 66427.
