Brian Kenworthy, age 46, of Blue Rapids, Kan., died Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the K.U. Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.Visitation was Thursday, March 27, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville, Kan.  The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m.A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 28, 2014, at the Blue Rapids Gymnasium in Blue Rapids.  Rev. Debbie Dick and Jake Bollhoefner officiated.  Tributes were given by Dan Hargrave and Kenny Coggins.Mike Minihan sang "Go Rest High On That Mountain” and “When I Get Where I Am Going”.  Recorded music included “The Dance” and “You Never Know”.The pallbearers were Dan Hargrave, Rod Rose, Don Wood, Chad Rhodes, Dave Baier and Corey Woodyard.The honorary pallbearers were Lynn Feldhausen, Donald Self, Chance Hartner, Tim Ackerman, Mike Vermetten, Ryan Woodyard, Todd Ackerman, Fernando Salcedo and Jake Bollhoefner.Burial was in the Frankfort City Cemetery, Frankfort, Kan.Brian was born on August 6, 1967, to Howard and Mary (Leupold) Kenworthy at Westmoreland, Kan.  He graduated from Frankfort High School in 1985.  Brian attended Manhattan Vo –Tech and studied auto body and then went to Kansas State Law Enforcement Academy, graduating in December of 1996.Brian was a reserve officer in 1993 for the Marysville Police, thru the years, was an officer for Blue Rapids, and presently was a Sheriff Deputy for Marshall County Sheriff Department.Brian liked spending time with his family, attending the kids’ activities, fishing, camping and KU basketball.Brian was a member of Kansas Narcotics Officer Assn. (KNOA), Kansas Gang Investigator Assn. (KGIA) and Kansas Sheriffs Assn.  He was a supporter of organ donation.Brian was united in marriage to Lisa Teagarden on August 6, 1988 at Frankfort.  She survives.  Other survivors include sons, Joshua (Kelsey) Kenworthy, Marysville, Sheldon Kenworthy, Bryson Kenworthy, both of Blue Rapids; his father and stepmother, Howard and Mary Lee Kenworthy, Aurora, Kan.; brothers, Doug (Dianne) Kenworthy, Waterville, Chad (LeaAnn) Kenworthy, Mitchell, Neb., Bob Kenworthy, Little River, Kan.; sister, Penny (Chris) Schaefer, Silver Lake, Kan.; and mother and father-in-law, Jim and Kathleen Teagarden, Manhattan.Preceding him in death was his mother, Mary.A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.
