Margaret Lucille Ferris, 92, of Frankfort, Kan., died March 28, 2014 at the Frankfort Community Care Home.Visitation was Wednesday, April 2, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 3, at the First United Methodist Church in Frankfort. The Rev. Norma Jeane Miller officiated.Moogie Roeder played the organ while Steve Gleason sang "Sunrise" and "Under His Wings". The congregation sang "In the Garden". Steve played the guitar and sang "I Drink the Wine".The pallbearers were Derek Pretre, Dylan Pretre, Joe Parthemer, Jerry Parthemer, Ted Forst and Fred Rosquist.The honorary pallbearers were Ken and Alice Jones and Bill and Francie Myers.Burial was in Barrett Cemetery south of Frankfort. Lucille was born on December 29, 1921 at Frankfort, Kan., to John William and Mary Etta (Mosher) Lucas. In 1939, she graduated from Frankfort High School. Lucille worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for ten years and retired from USD# 380 Cafeteria Services after twenty years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Frankfort, RSVP and a 64 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Reading, K-State sports and working on family history, were some of her favorite pastimes. Lucille was united in marriage to LeRoy Delbert Ferris, January 4, 1946 and they were blessed with three children. LeRoy preceded her in death on July 18, 1971. She was also preceded by her parents.Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Ferris Claunch, Rowlett, Tex., and Mary Susan (Paul) Gower, Phillipsburg, Kan.; son, Robert (Donna) Ferris, Marysville, Kan.; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.Memorials may be made to the Frankfort City Library or the First United Methodist Church in Frankfort. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel.
