Hunter Joseph Anthony Mayfield, 13, Marysville, Kan., and formerly of Hanover, Kan., died April 17, 2014 at Bryan West, Lincoln, Neb.Visitation was Wednesday, April 23, from noon until 8 p.m. at the Hanover Mortuary.A funeral service was at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 24, at the Hanover High School Gym. Rev. Donna Florio officiated. Destiney Perez sang, "Dancing in the Sky."The pallbearers were Chase Mayfield, Chris Mayfield, Jeremy Larabee, Patrick Mulvihill, James Beard and Damon O'Brine.Burial was in Marysville City Cemetery.Hunter was born on April 9, 2001 in Modesto, CA to Jason P. Mayfield and Michelle L. Beard. He moved with his family to Hanover, KS in 2010 and he attended Hanover Jr. High School. He was a member of the seventh grade class. He and his family recently moved to Marysville.Hunter enjoyed participating in sports, basketball, track, football and baseball. He loved playing video games, his laptop, skateboarding and listening to music.Survivors include his mother, Michelle Beard, Marysville; father, Jason Mayfield, California; step-fathers, Jason Larabee, Marysville, Patrick Mulvihill, California; brothers, Chris Mayfield, Chase Mayfield, Jeremy Larabee, all of Marysville, Jayden Mayfield, California; sister, Jessica Larabee, Marysville; grandmothers, Helen Beard, Ann Davis, both from California; grandfather, Larry Mayfield, California; and aunts, uncles and cousins.Preceding him in death was his grandfather, Joseph Anthony Beard.A memorial fund has been established and the family will designate later.
