Mark A. Rinehart, 90, formerly of Frankfort, KS, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Topeka. Visitation was Sunday, May 18, from 1 until 8 p.m. at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort. The family received friends from 3 to 5 p.m. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Monday, May 19, at the United Methodist Church in Frankfort. The Rev. Norma Jeane Miller officiated. Jodie Turnbull played the organ while Steve Gleason sang “One Day at a Time” and the congregation sings “Amazing Grace”. The pallbearers were Gary Pillard, Jerry Pillard, Wayne Tebbutt, Larry Hicks, Harold Armstrong and Bud Knackstedt. The honorary pallbearers were Hank Sisk, Jiggs Slifer, Max Turnbull, Jim Harper, Boyd Knackstedt and Dean Constable. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery. Mark was born at Bigelow, KS on September 12, 1923 to Frank and Grace (Armstrong) Rinehart. He served as a member of the 784th Anti-aircraft Artillery Battalion in the US Army during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1945. His work was as a heavy equipment operator. He worked for Bigelow Township, Marshall County and Ebert Construction until retirement in 1985. After retirement he continued to run heavy equipment for other townships and Dean Constable. Mark was a member of the Frankfort Volunteer Fire Department and served on the Antioch Cemetery Board. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Frankfort and the Frankfort American Legion. On September 21, 1947, he married Annabelle Hope. She survives. Other survivors include son, Mike (Cathy) Rinehart, Topeka; daughter, Kay Rinehart, Topeka; grandsons, Scotty and Ryan; step granddaughters, Kristen and Whitney; nephew, Ron (Alice) Green; niece, Tonia Moyers; sister-in law, Carol (Ray) Patridge; and various other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Theda. A memorial fund has been established to the United Methodist Church or Frankfort Ambulance Service.
