Mark A. "Paco" Jandera, 48, of Manhattan, and formerly of Hanover, died Monday, August 4, 2008, at Neodesha, Kansas. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2008, at St. John's Catholic Church in Hanover. Father Jim Hoover and Sister Marilyn Wall officiated. Janet Fritschi played the organ while Kristen Kruse sang. The music included “Hosea, I Have Loved You,” “On Eagles Wings,” “Song Of Farewell” and “Lead Me, Lord.” Pallbearers were Robert Jueneman, Alan Kruse, Shawn Linenberger, David Danekas, Jeff Hynek and Mike Coufal. Burial was in the church cemetery. A rosary service was held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 8, at the church. Mark was born August 10, 1959, at Hanover, the son of Gilbert and Wilma (Overwald) Jandera. He graduated from Hanover High School. He was employed with Scheilling Asphalt Construction, Manhattan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and glass work. Survivors include his sons, Jason, Dallas, and Joshua and Jacob, both of Lincoln; daughters, Jessica, Lincoln, and Melissa, Manhattan; and a sister, Connie Koss, Hanover. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Mary Jandera. A memorial fund has been designated to St. John's Catholic Church. Contributions may be sent in care of the Hanover Mortuary.
