Keith J. Sandmann, 51, of Marysville, Kan., died Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Marysville. Visitation was Wednesday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A rosary service was held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. Sister Eulalia Kloeker officiated. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 12 at St. Gregory's. Father Arul Carasala officiated. The pallbearers were Derek Sandmann, Garrett Degenhardt, Chuck Green, Eric Bergman, Scott Feldkamp, Ben Sandmann and Aaron Massie. Burial was in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery south of Axtell, Kan. Keith was born March 11, 1963 at Marysville, Kan., son of Leo "Gus" A. and JoAnn Marie (Osterhaus) Sandmann. On May 2, 1987 he married Janet Dorrance at Salem Lutheran Church near Axtell. He worked on a section gang for the Union Pacific Railroad before operating Sandmann's Body Shop east of Marysville. He was great with children, enjoyed mechanic work on cars and going to car shows. His mother preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Janet; daughter, Ashley (Ryan) Rengstorf, Bremen, Kan.; father, Leo "Gus" Sandmann, Blue Rapids, Kan.; three brothers, Tom Sandmann, Blue Rapids; Dan Sandmann and Andy Sandmann, both of Frankfort, Kan.; three sisters, Janell Novotny, Oketo, Kan., K'Lynne Degenhardt and Sarah Lee, both of Marysville. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
