Judy Elaine Crome, 66, of Marysville, KS, died Monday, June 9, at Lincoln, NE. Visitation was noon until 9 p.m., Wednesday, June 11 at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 12 at Christ Lutheran Church in Beatrice, NE. Rev. Josh Hillmann officiated. Elaine Schroeder played the organ while the congregation sang “Beautiful Savior”, “I Love to Tell Story” and “On Eagles Wings”. The pallbearers were Doug Linkugel, Daryl Linkugel, Matt Schmidt, Tony Westhoff, Ross Pfingsten and Kyle Pfingsten. The honorary pallbearers were Aaron Pfingsten, Brad Crome and James Crome. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Judy was born on August 6, 1947 at Beatrice, NE, to Glen and Berniece (Bartels) Pfingsten. On August 17, 1947, she was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Beatrice, and confirmed March 26, 1961 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Beatrice. Judy attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Elementary School and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1965. On March 23, 1969, she was united in marriage to Gordon Crome at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Beatrice, NE. Judy was a bookkeeper for Walmart for 34 years. She taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School for many years. Judy was a leader for the Happy Horseshoe 4-H Club. She also enjoyed gardening and sewing and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her father, Glen. Survivors include her husband, Gordon; her mother, Berniece; sons, Kevin (Haley) Crome, Marysville, and Steven (Shelly) Crome, Herkimer; daughters, Shari (Jon) Hagedorn, Milwaukee, WI, and Becky (Mark) Dwerlkotte, Marysville; brothers, Allen Pfingsten, Dewitt, NE, and Robert Pfingsten, Firth, NE; sister, Phyllis Schmidt, Beatrice; and seven grandchildren.
