Sharlyn R. Leach, 83, of Marysville, KS, died Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Independence House Alzheimer Memory Care Unit in Lincoln, NE. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., June 26, Thursday, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. Father Jim Shaughnessy officiated. Burial was in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery. Sharlyn was born March 6, 1931 at Marysville, KS, daughter of the late Leo and Agnes (Savago) Schramm. She was a member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church and Altar Society, Eagle Auxiliary and the Moose Club. She worked for U.S.D. 364 in the hot lunch program and spent many years serving lunches to all the children at St. Gregory’s Catholic School. Sharlyn enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles Guy Huggins III; parents; brother, Donald “Lefty” Schramm; sister, Theresa A. Spellmeier; brother-in-law, Robert L. Spellmeier; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Schramm. Survivors include a daughter, Rose Anne Suggett and husband Doug Radtke, Lincoln, NE; son, Stephen Huggins, Houston, TX; two brothers, Jim Schramm, Marysville, and Bill (Wilma) Schramm, Mustang, OK; sister, Mary Ann (Joe) Slama, Tulsa, OK; sister-in-law, Pat Schramm, Omaha, NE; six grandchildren, Jennifer Littlejohn, Steffani Parr, Natalie Benham, Melissa Seay, Kristin Agulier and Kevin Huggins; and twelve great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established to Independence House Alzheimer Memory Care Unit in Lincoln, NE. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
