Edna B. Schwarz, 92, died, Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Cambridge Place in Marysville, KS. Visitation was Friday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 21, at the Evangelical Church in Marysville. Rev. Judy Scott officiated. Deborah Bruna played the organ while Pat Breeding sang “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, “How Great Thou Art” and “I Know That My Redeemer Lives”. The pallbearers were Mike Boss, Jeff Stock, Travis Schubert, Ron McCugh, Darrin Svoboda and Rick Svoboda. The honorary pallbearers were Doug Ballard, Jim Stock, Virgil Ballard and Lynn Wilson. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Edna was born January 16, 1922 at Herkimer, KS, to Benjamin and Edith (Moeske) Wilson. On October 14, 1940 she married Arthur Schwarz at the Evangelical Church in Marysville. She was employed at JC Penney’s in Marysville until 1966 when they moved to Topeka. There she continued working for Penney’s at White Lakes Mall until retiring. She then went to work at Merchants National Bank and later Clara’s Clothes Closet. Edna sold Avon and did ceramics. Her favorite hobby was baking and decorating wedding cakes. She did many beautiful cakes for family and friends. In Marysville she was a member of the Evangelical Church and then joined the First Congregational Church in Topeka. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and did many bible studies. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur; brothers, Antone Wilson and Benny Wilson; and sisters, Edith Svoboda, Minnie Weichbrodt, Mable Stolzer and Lillian Ballard. Surviving her are nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established to Meadowlark Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, 1006 Broadway, Marysville, KS 66508
