Mary Ita Sedlacek, 65, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014, in Topeka. Visitation was at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, at St. John's Catholic Church in Hanover, followed by the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 3, at St. John's Catholic Church in Hanover, with Father David Metz officiating. The hymns for the mass were sung by the St. John's Choir, accompanied by Janet Fritschi on the organ. Pallbearers were, Pat Sedlacek, Dan Sedlacek, Francis Sedlacek, Don Johnson, John Feldkamp, and Tim Whitmer. Burial was at St. John's Cemetery in Hanover. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation and can be sent in care of Hanover Mortuary in Hanover KS. Mary was born on July 11, 1948 at McCook, Nebraska to John J. Sedlacek, Jr. and Mary (Murphy) Sedlacek She attended St. John's Parochial School in Hanover. Mary graduated from Marion High School in Hays, KS, where she lived with her Aunt MaryAnn Sedlacek. She lived in Topeka for most of her adult life, Mary was truly loved and will be missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her two brothers, Pat Sedlacek of Maryville, TN; and Dan (Vicki) Sedlacek of Papillion, NE;, her sister, Elizabeth (Gary) Reno, of Emporia, KS; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her Aunt Kathryn, and her brother, John M. (Mike) Sedlacek.
