Thelma Cordelia Parrott, 84, Frankfort, KS, died Friday, July 4, 2014 at her daughter's home in Wichita, KS. Care was provided by her dedicated, loving family and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Team. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 10, from noon until 8 p.m. at the Padden Funeral Chapel, Frankfort. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A private family service will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014, with Rev. Jerry Zanker officiating. Burial will be in the Frankfort City Cemetery. Thelma was born on March 7, 1930 at her parent's home in Sullivan County, Missouri, to Lester H. and Lydia C. (Stout) Mack. In 1948, she graduated from Galt High School, Galt, MO. In 1949, she graduated from Chillicothe Business College, Chillicothe, MO. Thelma worked for the Country Club Plaza Bank & Trust Company in Kansas City, MO, for four years prior to her marriage to Dr. John Parrott. They were married on June 14, 1953 at the Westport Presbyterian Church in Kansas City. In 1959, they moved to Frankfort, KS., where John established his dental practice until his death on June 2, 1993. During that time, Thelma was a homemaker and later on, worked full time as a dental assistant for her husband. After his death, Thelma worked part time for Peg Suther at the Petal Pusher in Frankfort. Thelma was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Civic Club, and a Brownie Girl Scout Leader in Frankfort. Kansas University basketball, fishing, crocheting, sewing, reading, puzzles and playing cards with her friends, were some of her favorite pastimes. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. John Parrott; brother-in-law, Wilford Scott; and grandson, Andrew Baldwin. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela (Mike) Baldwin, Mary (Dan) Whitney; two sons, Richard Parrott, Michael (Rita) Parrott, all of Wichita, KS; sister, Joyce Nadine Scott, Chillicothe, MO; and four grandsons, Bradley Baldwin, Wichita, Jonathan Parrott, Norfolk, VA, Joseph Parrott, San Diego, CA and Parker Whitney, Abilene, TX. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Frankfort City Library or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel, Frankfort, KS.
