Irvin "Brownie" Bothwell

April 14, 1932 — July 6, 2014

Irvin D. “Brownie” Bothwell, 82, of Marysville, passed away on July 6, 2014 at Life Care Center of Seneca. Brownie was born on April 14, 1932 to Clayton and Alma (Claeys) Bothwell. Brownie grew up and lived in the Marysville area his whole life. He farmed from 1959-1963 when he started driving cement truck until 1972, after that he was with the railroad from 1972-1992. Brownie was a veteran of the United States Army. He once ran for Marshall County Sheriff and still carried a campaign card in his wallet. Brownie was a storyteller and enjoyed sharing his adventures with everyone. He enjoyed watching TV, especially the cattle auctions. He collected trains and would jump at the chance to drive to Marysville and watch the trains. He also enjoyed being outside in the sun or fishing. His last fishing trip with Life Care was in June on Father’s Day weekend and he of course caught the BIG ONE! Brownie had made his home at Life Care for over 7 years. The staff and volunteers will miss him dearly. A memorial service will be held at Life Care Center of Seneca on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. Burial will follow in the Marysville City Cemetery.
