Fern Funke, 92, Marysville, died Sunday Aug. 17, 2008, at Cambridge Place. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2008, at Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville. The Rev. Anthony Putti officiated. Jane Sedlacek played the organ and also sang “Lead Me Lord” and “On Eagles Wings”. Pallbearers were Tony Marquardt, Chuck Marquardt, Raymond Marquardt, Mike Seematter, Jon Stryker, Mike Craig and Steve Gibson. Honorary pallbearers were Will Marquardt, Henry Marquardt and Landon Durham. Burial was in the Marysville Cemetery. Visitation was from 10 a.m. till 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at Kinsley Mortuary. Fern Funke was born on Oct. 17, 1915, at Herkimer, daughter of Lawrence H. and Emma Nieman Stoehr. She went to Herkimer grade school. She married Laverne Funke on Dec. 16, 1935. She was a self-employed housekeeper. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Lou Marquardt and Betty Seematter, both of Marysville; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Lawrence and LeRoy Stoehr; a sister, Mildred Wymore; and one great- grandchild, Kaylee Durham. Memorial contributions may be made to St .Gregory’s Catholic Church and sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
