Gloria Jean “Genie” Lamb, 68, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 30, 2008, at the Church of Christ in Marysville. Dennis Holst and Ray Maxwell officiated. The congregation sang “He Leadeth Me”, “The New Song” and “The Lord Is My Shepherd”. Pallbearers were Steve Beisel, Seth Burney, Aaron Beisel, Ray Maxwell, Jim Zabokrtsky and Mike Maxwell. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Gloria was born at Marysville on August 9, 1940, the daughter of Jim and Mary (Downie) Wiggins. On June 13, 1957, she married Ronald Steffen. They raised their four daughters at Beatrice, NE. They later divorced. She was later married to Robert Osterholm. He preceded her in death. She was later married to Charlie Lamb. They later divorced. Genie enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, garage sales, outdoor activities, and she was known for her jokes and her sense of humor. She was a homemaker, was a waitress at various places including Marilyn’s Café in Marysville, drove a school bus, and hauled railroad crews in New Mexico. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Marysville. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Wiggins; husband, Robert Osterholm, and one grandchild, Gabriel Maxwell. Survivors include her mother, Mary Wiggins of Marysville; four daughters, Jeannie Stevens of Lincoln, NE, Karol Beisel and husband Steve of Marysville, Linda Maxwell and husband Ray of Beemer, NE, and Tracy Zabokrtsky and husband Jim of Beatrice, NE; three sisters, Marilyn Oehm and Barb Seematter, both of Marysville, and Pat Holly of Fairbury, NE; fifteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been designated to Meadowlark Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
