Loretta P. Jones, 72, of Frankfort, KS, died Friday, August 22, 2014 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. Visitation was Tuesday, August 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m., Tuesday at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 27 at Annunciation Catholic Church. Father Jim Shaughnessy officiated. Jane Sedlacek played the organ while vocalists, Rheta Matson and Justin Stowell, sang "Be Not Afraid", "Ave Maria", "On Eagles Wings", "One Bread, One Body", "You Are Mine" and "Amazing Grace". The pallbearers were Jerry Gerstner, Charlie Studer, Roger Jones, Wayne Mitchell, Tim Suther and Joe Lauer. The honorary pallbearers were Ralph Miller, Gene Fischer, Ed Fischer, Herschel Mentgen, Lyle Howell, Roy Miller, Jerry Suther and William Brady. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Frankfort. Loretta was born September 22, 1941 at Frankfort, daughter of Theodore R. and Regina K. (Harrington) Stowell. In 1959, she graduated from Frankfort High School. On April 1, 1959, she married Allen Jones at Frankfort. She was a fun, loving deeply caring homemaker who was a friend to everyone. She enjoyed cooking, working in the garden, taking meals to Allen in the field, and chauffeuring the grandkids. She was very active in Girl Scouts, Beta Epsilon Sorority, Annunciation Altar Society and “Ladies Coffee Club”. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church. Loretta was known for her great hospitality, you never left her home with and empty stomach. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Allen, Nov. 2, 2013. Survivors include her son, Mark Jones (Lisa Essman), Frankfort; daughters, Lynette (Kent) Floyd, Beattie, KS, and Julie (Leon) Fox, Frankfort; brother, Jerry (Joyce) Stowell, Frankfort; sister, Mary Jean (Dale) Gierthy, California; grandchildren, Lacey (Rick) Stevens, Dustin (Kim) Floyd, Lance (Christy) Jones, Dalen Floyd, Tara Fox and Grady Fox; and one great-granddaughter, Adaleigh Jones. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel.
