Ali Lin deKoning, 27, died at her home in Beattie, KS, on August 25, 2014. Visitation was Thursday, August 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 29 at the United Methodist Church in Marysville. Rev. Dale Lewis officiated and sang “In My Heart” and “Safe”. The pallbearers were Lee Moser, Jay Frerking, Reed Bradley, Randy Frerking, Bryant Frerking and Danny Parmentier. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Ali was born on October 27, 1986 at Manhattan, KS, to Dennis and Linda (Rowland) deKoning. She attended grade school at Marysville Elementary through the 5th grade and was involved in 4-H and Footloose Dance Studio. She attended the 6th grade at Silver Lake before returning to this area and attending Jr. High and Sr. High at Linn, KS, and graduated from Frankfort High School in May of 2005. She worked for Twin Valley Developmental Services in Beattie with the recycling program and the Thrift Store. She was currently working through Twin Valley to reach her goal to obtain and work as a CNA. Ali also worked at Landoll Corporation in Marysville and Armour Eckrich Meats in Junction City. Ali loved people of all ages, family, animals, shopping, electronics, watching movies, and music. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1988 and belonged to a church group called the Special Saints. Survivors include her mother, Linda Rowland and Kevin Parmentier, Frankfort; and grandmothers, Alice Rowland, Marysville, and Joni deKoning, Port Clinton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis deKoning; grandparents, Bette (Moser) and Virgil Rowland, Richard deKoning and Rose (Manley) deKoning. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
