Alice Berneil Hunter, 92, Marysville, died Friday, October 3, 2008, at Cambridge Place. A service was at 10 a.m., Monday, October 6, 2008, at Kinsley Chapel, Marysville. The Rev. John Kisling officiated. Jane Sedlacek, organist and soloist, played and sang “Waltz Across Texas” and “Amazing Grace.” Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chad Whitebread, Blaine Kloppenberg, Kyle Krotzinger, Fred Whitebread, Ryan Kloppenberg and Jared McClellen. Visitation was 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, and one hour before the service. Alice Hunter was born Aug. 27, 1916, at Blue Rapids, to Albert and Alice Adealia Warren. She attended school in Blue Rapids and worked there. She moved to Marysville and worked at Safeway. She was head cook of the school lunch program at Marysville schools. She enjoyed dancing. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include sons, Darel Whitebread, Marysville, and Terry Kloppenberg, Council Grove; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
