Margery E. Larkin, age 93 of Marysville, Kansas, died Saturday morning, October 18, 2014 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. Visitation was held on Monday, October 20, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family received friends 6 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 21, at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville. Rev. Judy Scott officiated. The musicians were Deb Bruna, Wayne Kruse and Valerie Oltman. Music included “In the Garden” and “One Day at a Time”. The pallbearers were Jim Phillips, John Phillips, Jon Larkin, Mike Larkin, Rick Larkin, Scott Larkin, Brian Larkin and Sean Larkin. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Margery was born on August 29, 1921 at Axtell, KS, to Clifford and Edythe (Young) McKee. She grew up in a rural area and loved helping farm. Margery liked being on the tractor. Gardening, raising flowers, and yard work were her hobbies. She enjoyed playing softball, bowling, and following sports. Margery and her husband moved to Marysville in 1952. She helped her husband with their grocery store, Larkin's IGA, for many years. Survivors are her sons, Bill (Pattie) Larkin, Houston, TX, and Bob (Patti) Larkin, Marysville; daughters, Sharon (Gary) Phillips, Marysville, and Connie Chamberlain, Granbury, TX; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, in 2004; sisters, Audine Ekberg and Shirley McKee; brother, Ronald McKee; son-in-law, Larry Chamberlain; daughters-in-law, Karen Larkin and Eileen Larkin; and two grandchildren, Jan Larkin and Jay Phillips. Memorial contributions may be made to the Evangelical United Church of Christ or to the Marysville High School restoration fund and can be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville.
