Henry "Abe" Brockman, 76, of Home, KS, died Monday, November 3, 2014 at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. Visitation was on Friday, November 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A rosary service was held at 7 p.m., Friday at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 8 at St. Gregory's. Burial was in the church cemetery. Abe was born August 10, 1938 at Beattie, KS, to Frank and Catherine (Latus) Brockman. In 1957,he graduated from Beattie High School. He worked in agriculture as a fertilizer sprayer operator with Lewis Seed for 38 years. He served with the National Guard, was a member of the American Legion and on the Franklin Township Board. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodworking, and playing cards. On November 10, 1962, he was united in marriage to Judith Wilmot in Marysville. She survives. Other survivors include his sons, Hank (Jane) Brockman, Jr., Home, and Jon (Jenny) Brockman, Bern, KS; daughter, Jamie Smith, Home; brothers, Lorenz Brockman Newton, and Fred Brockman, Macedonia, IA; sisters, Marie Griffee, Beattie, Carol Munger, Wichita, Betty Wolfgang, Hancock, IA, and Theresa Burrington, Emerson, IA; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Francis Brockman and Leo Brockman. A memorial fund has been established to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
