Cynthia Ann Wiegert, 70, passed away Monday, October 27, 2008, at Haven House in Silvis, Illinois. A rosary service was held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, November 1, at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, at the mortuary. Father Anthony Putti officiated. Music included "On Eagles Wings". Burial was in St. Gregory’s Catholic Cemetery. Cynthia was born June 18, 1938, the daughter of Chester W. and Cynthia E. (Wassenberg) Wiegert. Cynthia was baptized June 26, 1938 at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church and was confirmed on May 10, 1949. She attended St. Gregory’s Catholic School. She worked with the ARC doing piecework for different companies. About 5 years ago for her retirement she went to Opportunity Center, Inc. where she helped make crafts that were then sold. Cynthia enjoyed playing the piano, reading to the elderly, sitting and observing people dance, going out to eat dessert and Pepsi. She also enjoyed cats, birds and sometimes dogs. She was always family orientated and loved visiting with family whenever possible. Her parents and one sister, Janet Killpack, preceded her in death. Survivors include her stepmother, Irene Wiegert; three sisters, Betty Orr of Colorado Springs, CO, Mary Dhooge of Coal Valley, IL, and Rita Landers of Fountain, CO; and two brothers, Robert Wiegert of Seneca, KS, and Frank Wiegert of Thornton, CO. A memorial fund has been designated to Havens House in Silvis, Illinois. Contributions may be sent to Havens House, 1100 8 St. Court, Silvis, Il 61282.
