Juanita was born January 27, 1932 at Schoenchen, KS, to Alex and Regina (Gottschalk) Bieker. On July 25, 1955 she married Bill Lyhane. They moved to Topeka and in 1956 moved to Marysville. She loved going to church daily. If she could not she would watch it on TV and pray the rosary at least twice daily. She also loved baking and cooking, making Christmas treats for family, friends and people that she worked for. She also enjoyed bus trips, especially to the casinos. She sold poppies for over 40 years in downtown Marysville. She appreciated the efforts given by all the men and women of our armed forces and was very proud of her grandson, Mike Lyhane. She loved her three boys and her grandchildren. She attended many of their games, dance recitals and plays. For over 35 years Juanita and Bill managed the Vets Club 36 and had roller skating almost every night during the winter months and dances on Saturday nights. Skating nights were her favorite since she got to see hundreds of young kids grow up each year. She was a member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 2001; parents; two brothers, Marvin and Victor Bieker; and four sisters, Lyla Bieker, Alice Sauer, Armella Bianchino and Mabel Gross. Survivors include her sons, Mike (Janice) Lyhane and David (Mary) Lyhane, all of Marysville, and Tony Lyhane, North Platte, NE; brothers, Kenny Bieker and Willard Bieker, both of Schoenchen, KS; 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A memorial fund is established in her name and will be designated at a later time. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
