Ann G. Ackerman

Ann G. Ackerman, 80, Marysville, died Friday, December 12, 2014 at Cambridge Place, Marysville. Visitation is from noon until 9 p.m., Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville. A graveside funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, December 15, 2014 at Marysville City Cemetery. Rev. Marilyn Sweet is officiating. Ann was born at Tulsa, OK, on October 23, 1934 to Joel and Hazel Cutting. She graduated from high school in Ottawa, KS, and Kansas University with a degree in music education. She worked ten years at Potter’s Jewelry and ten years for the CMH Foundation. She belonged to Chi Omega Sorority, KU Greater University fund, was a Cub Scout den mother, a guide for Koester House museum and spent 8 years as a Hospice volunteer. Ann served on the Board of Directors of Marysville Country Club. Ann was a member of the Presbyterian Church and played organ for the Presbyterian and Christian Churches. She played in several bridge clubs, enjoyed golf and was a member of Athenaeum Club for 46 years. She was united in marriage to Dale A. Ackerman. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Joyce Basinger. Survivors include her children, Chad Ackerman, Lincoln, NE, Dana Gerhard, Dallas, TX; and sister, Luanna Debrick.
