John Joseph Bramhall, 68, of Marysville, KS, died January 8, 2015 at Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice, NE. He was born December 16, 1946 to Bill and Arletta (Belveal) Bramhall at Centralia, KS. In 1964 he graduated from Vermillion High School. Visitation is Sunday, January 11, from 2 to 8 p.m., at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family will receive friends 6 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, January 12 at Salem Lutheran Church south of Axtell, KS. On January 4, 1966, he was drafted into the Army at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. Upon basic training graduation he reported to Ft. Gordon, GA, in March of 1966. He was deployed to Thailand from June 1966 to July of 1968 when came back stateside to Ft. Hood in Temple and Ft. Sam in San Antonio, TX. In 1970 he returned to Kansas. On October 11, 1970 he married Donna Johnson. The family moved to San Antonio, TX. January 1971 he was deployed to Vietnam. He returned January 1972 when the family moved to Temple, TX. He was deployed to Thailand in 1973. He returned stateside 1974 when he discharged from active duty. He remained in the National Guard and in the early 1980’s returned to active duty as the Unit Administrator. He retired from active duty in 1993. John did odd jobs for most of his adult life, painting houses, lawn work, driving the school bus and enjoyed most - helping his father on the farm. He was preceded in death by his mother, Arletta Bramhall; brother, Ronald Bramhall; nephews, Brad Brooks and William Wendland; grandparents, Joe and Violet Bramhall and John and Dottie Belveal. Survivors include his daughter, Regina Bramhall, Topeka; ex-wife, Donna Bramhall, Marysville; father, Bill Bramhall, Vermillion; sister, Sonja (Alan) Winslow, Topeka; sister-in-law, Nancy Lisher, Frankfort; and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Salem Lutheran Church.
