Evelyn Marie (Miller) Spencer, passed away January 21, 2015 at the Frankfort Community Care Home. A private family graveside service was held on January 24, 2015 at Frankfort City Cemetery. Rev. Marilyn Sweet officiated. Evelyn was born January 27, 1929 to Albert and Caroline (Sabin) Miller in Frankfort, KS. She graduated from Frankfort High School with the class on 1947. On June 21, 1959 she married “Freddie F. Roesch. He died as a result of a trucking accident on June 21, 1962. She married Earl L. Spencer on October 30, 1964. Earl was a Union Boilermaker and he and Evelyn traveled from job site to job site in their motorhome, seeing new places and making new friends. On April 1, 1990, Earl passed away in Texas. Evelyn was employed for eight years by Perry Packing Company and four years by Triangle Drug Store. While traveling with her husband, Evelyn worked at local diners and dime stores. After Earl’s death, Evelyn settled back in Frankfort and worked part time at the Frankfort Nutrition Center. After she retired from the center, Evelyn still volunteered at the center and was a faithful volunteer at the Frankfort Care Home. She moved into the Frankfort Community Care Home in August of 2013. Evelyn was an avid quilter and did a lot of beautiful quilts for friends and family. She also loved to travel and visit with friends and neighbors. Evelyn was preceded in death by her two husbands; her parents; a step-son; and two brothers. She is survived by her youngest brother, Clayton R. (Sue) Miller, Hastings, NE; two step-daughters, Gail Kahrt, Columbia, MO, Margaret Bees, Clinton, IA; and several nieces and step-grandchildren.
