Ray A. Mosher

Ray A. Mosher, 91, Frankfort, died early Saturday, November 22, 2008, at the Frankfort Community Care Home. A funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 29, 2008, at the United Methodist Church in Frankfort. The Rev. Norma Jean Miller officiated. Music was provided by Steve Gleason. Ray was born at rural Frankfort, in the Mond Chapel Area, to Seth and Bertha (Shope) Mosher. When he was 2 1/2 years old he moved with his family to the Lillis area where he started grade school. They moved back to Frankfort in 1929 where he graduated from Frankfort High School. He lettered in basketball, football and track, and studied vo-agriculture. He was united in marriage to Margaret Ellen Wright on September 12, 1940. They moved to San Diego where he was employed in aircraft B24 and PBY. Ray was a Master Sergeant in the 61st field artillery and served in Japan. When they returned to Frankfort they started Mosher Service and Ray ran the shop 50 years. He retired to help care for Margaret. She preceded him in death February 9, 1994. Padden Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
