Timothy Lee “Tim” Becker, 64, of Turpin, OK, died Monday, February 2, 2015 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. Visitation was Friday, February 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hanover Mortuary. The family received friends 6 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 7 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hanover. Father David Metz officiated. Janet Fritschi played the organ while the church choir sang “How Great Thou Art”, “Prayer of St. Francis”, “I Am the Bread of Life”, “Jerusalem, My Destiny”, “Song of Farewell” and “How Can I keep from Singing”. The pallbearers were Erin Rut, James Rut, Connor Becker, Roger Becker, Nathan Kerby and Terry Eklund. Burial was in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. Tim was born January 20, 1951 at Exeter, KS, the son of Gerald Thomas and Margaret Mary (O’Connor) Becker. He was a 1969 graduate of Exeter High School and earned a Bachelor degree in education at Peru State College in Nebraska. Tim was a long time resident of Hanover, KS, where he was a teacher for 12 years at St. John’s Catholic School. In 2004, he moved to Turpin, OK, and has worked for National Carriers in the parts department for the past 10 years. He was a member of the St. John’s Catholic Church in Hanover where he sang in the church choir and was a member of the Knights of Columbus #1743. He attended St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal. His hobbies included playing cards, working on projects in the yard, Bingo, telling jokes and pulling pranks. He loved spending time with his Children and Grandchildren and his “Little Buddy” Kyeron Williams. On June 17, 1972, he married Teddy Lea Davis at Nebraska City, NE. She died December 28, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Betty Davis; and sister-in-law, Lori Becker. On June 3, 2006, he married Sharon L. Woods at Liberal, KS. She survives. Other survivors include four sons, Tom (Sherri) Becker, Marysville, KS, Trent Becker and companion Mandy Habig, Marysville, KS, Tyron (Rita) Becker, Hanover, and Travis (Chelsea) Becker, Hanover; daughter, Theresa Becker and companion Floyd DeHart, Greenleaf, KS; two brothers, Steve Becker, Exeter, NE, and Dave (Denise) Becker, York, NE; sister, Geri Lynn (Ken) Kerby, Bellevue, NE; nine grandchildren, C.J. Becker, Sierra Becker, J.T. Becker, Korbin Becker, Trista Becker, Dalton DeHart, LeeAnn DeHart, Davis Becker, and Brett Becker; many nieces, nephews and 1 great nephew. Memorial contributions can be may be made to the Tim Becker Memorial Fund and sent in care of the Hanover Mortuary.
