Thomas Daniel Morgan, 75, passed away on April 16, 2015 at his home in Hanover, KS., two weeks after being diagnosed with liver cancer. Visitation was Sunday, April 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hanover Mortuary in Hanover. A Parish Vigil was held at 7 p.m., Sunday at St. John's Catholic Church in Hanover. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 20, at St. John's Catholic Church. Father David Metz and Father Jerome Morgan officiated. Janet Fritschi was the organist. Music included “Companions on the Journey”, “Angels Among Us”, “Sing of the Lords Goodness”, “Song of Farewell” and “Lead Me, Lord”. The pallbearers were Robert Lohse, Gary Stone, Dennis Doebele, John Diederich, Ryan Riekenberg and Leonard Doebele. Burial was in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Hanover. Tom was born to Clifford Morgan and Mary (Donohue) Morgan on May 12, 1939 in Washington, KS. Tom graduated from Hanover High School in 1958 and married his sweetheart, Marilyn Henneberg, on November 4, 1961, at St. John's Catholic Church in Hanover. Early in their married life, Tom was drafted into the Army and spent two years in support of the Berlin Crisis in Frankfurt Hoechst, Germany. Tom and Marilyn returned from Germany to Hanover where they operated Tim's Cafe'. Tom then worked over 30 years for the Union Pacific Railroad as an equipment operator, retiring in October 2006. Tom was a member of American Legion Post 306, Hanover, a retired volunteer fireman with the Hanover Fire Department and a member of St. John's Catholic Church. Tom enjoyed his family and loved sports. He was a vigorous, enthusiastic person who loved a variety of physical activity. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, of 53 years, and two daughters, Denae (Ron) Jueneman of Hanover and Tammy (David) Feldkamp of Manhattan. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Alex, Morgan, and Joshua Feldkamp, Mary Kate and Keagan Dimler, and Austin, Brandon, Preston, Katelyn, and Colin Jueneman. Tom is also survived by his brother, Fr. Jerome Morgan, Salina, KS; sister, Jane Kearby, Hot Springs Village, AR; brother, Stephen Morgan, Edwardsville, KS; brother-in-law, Dennis (Marlene) Henneberg, Loveland, CO; sister-in-law, June Hanson, Greeley, CO; 6 nieces and nephews and many, many friends. A memorial fund has been established and contributions may be sent in care of the Hanover Mortuary.
