Hedwig K. Kroeger, 95, died Tuesday morning, May 5, 2015 at Community Memorial Healthcare, Marysville. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., Thursday, May 7 at Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville. Rosary was 7 p.m., Thursday at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial was 10 a.m., Friday, May 8, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Marysville. Fr. Jim Shaughnessy officiated. Organist was Cindy Voet and Cantor was Paula Landoll-Smith. Hymns were "Be Not Afraid", "Prayer of St. Francis", "You Are Mine", "Song of Farewell" and "Here I Am Lord." Pallbearers were James Kroeger, Jordan Kroeger, Justin Kroeger, Andrew Haggner, Ryan Msahoney, Evan Mahoney and Fred Nietfeld. Burial was in St. Gregory’s Catholic Cemetery. Hedwig was born in Dinklage Germany on January 19, 1920 to Clemens and Emma Dwerlkotte. She came to Beattie, in March of 1952. On April 15, 1953 Hedwig was united in marriage to Hubert Kroeger and they lived near Winifred until 1960, when they moved to Marysville and farmed. She was a farm wife and a homemaker. Hedwig was a member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren. Hedwig was able to return to Germany several times for visits with family. Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Hubert on June 15, 2008. Hedwig is survived by her children, Anna (Don) Haffner, Junction City, Heddy (Tom) Mahoney, Dorrance, Francis (Kaye Lynn) Kroeger, Home, Joe (Kathy) Kroeger, Marysville; fifteen grandchildren, Karen Haffner, Andy (Julie) Haffner, Ryan (Andi) Mahoney, Evan (Emily) Mahoney, Jenalee Mahoney, Leigha (Kyle) Behrens, Erin (Landon) Wright, Courtney Kroeger, James (Sara) Kroeger, Mandy (Nick) Rengstorf, Justin (Makenzie) Kroeger, Marcy Holthaus, Jordan Kroeger, Micala (Justin) Schell, Kylie Kroeger; and fifteen great grandchildren. A memorial fund is established to the St. Gregory’s Catholic School. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
