Robert E. “Bob” Wright, 82, of Beattie, KS, died Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. Visitation was Sunday, May 17, from 1 to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 18 at the Beattie Community Center in Beattie. Private burial will be in the Beattie Union Cemetery. Bob was born on August 15, 1932 at his parent’s, Glen B. and Leona M. (Seat) Wright, home near Beattie. He graduated from Beattie High School in 1950. On November 25, 1951, he was united in marriage to Doris Bacon at Beattie. He was self-employed as a custom harvester and truck driver. He drove a motor grader for Richland and Guittard Townships; was a truck driver for Studer Trucking, Beattie Coop, Lakeview MI Elevator, had his cornsheller co.; and had Wright Custom Harvesters for 45 years. Bob loved every job he ever had! Bob enjoyed his family and loved spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. He especially loved Christmas and having Santa visit his family each year. He enjoyed watching his boys and grandkids sporting events. Survivors include his wife, Doris of their home in Beattie; sons, Rick (Carol) and Ross (Candace) Marysville, Robin (Laurie) Beattie, Ron, Polo, MO; brothers, Merlin, Home, and Don, Brownville, NE.; ten grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Leona Wright; sister, Glenis Bergmann; granddaughters, Samantha Wright and Rhonda Wright; and great granddaughter, Maria Wright. A memorial fund is established and will be designated by the family. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
