Warren Roady died Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Monday, January 12, at the United Methodist Church in Marysville. The Rev. Dale Lewis officiated. Deb Landoll played the organ and vocalists Paula Landoll-Smith and Barb Knecht sang “Just As I Am”, “Can’t Cry Hard Enough” and “I Did It My Way”. Pallbearers were Charlie Oehm, John Brackett, Ed Hawkins, Gary Jorgenson, LeRoy Lopez and Mark Crome. Honorary pallbearers were Tony Cohorst, Delmer Sand, Melvin Goepfert, and Melvyn Miller. Burial was in Marysville City Cemetery. Warren was born in Kansas City, MO, on May 29, 1937, the son of Wayne L. and Leona (Lehman) Roady. He graduated high school at Charleston, Ark. Warren was a heavy equipment operator and mechanic. He helped build Tuttle Creek as a heavy equipment operator, worked as a machinist in Rossville, worked as a plumber, was city street foreman in the 1970’s and 80’s. He also worked for Landoll Corporation as a welder and other jobs for 28 years. Mr. Roady enjoyed woodworking. He made a band saw and he cut his own wood to build such things as cedar chests and bird houses. He also enjoyed dancing and gardening. He was married to Rosalie (Volesky) Roady. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Wayne L. Roady and wife Sharon of Marysville, and William L. Roady and wife Nikki of Wichita, KS; one daughter, Wanda L. Steffes and husband Dennis of Hershey, NE; five grandchildren, Sierra Landoll and husband Phil, Joshua Roady, Shalynn Roady, Jessica Roady, and Marcus Roady; and two great-grandchildren Preston and Zephry Landoll.
