Alvira Mildred Leschber

Alvira M. Leschber, 87, Marysville, died Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. A funeral service was at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 10, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Thorndale, Texas. The Rev. James Mann officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Alvira Leschber was born April 4, 1921, at Thorndale, daughter of Ernest and Clara Moerbe Kieschenick. She married Lawrence Leschber on May 5, 1939, at Thorndale. They farmed. After her husband died two years ago, she moved here to live near her daughter. She was a member of St. Paul’s Church. She enjoyed flowers and family. Survivors include her daughter, Betty Melcher, Marysville; her son, Robert, Austin, Texas; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Patschke, Taylor, Texas and Dotsy Walters.
