Mary Ann Ballman, 82, of Marysville, KS, died Friday, June 19, 2015 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. Visitation was Tuesday, June 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. A rosary service was held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 23, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 24 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church. Father Jim Shaughnessy officiated. Dolores Bruna played the organ while the church choir sang “Here I Am Lord”, “Amazing Grace”, “One Eagles Wings”, “You Are Mine”, and “I Have Loved You.” The pallbearers were Doug Hogan, Randy Hogan, Don Ballman, Jeff Ballman, Rick Lister, Luke Lister, Troy Sedlacek, Dan Ballman, Mike Babb and Dean Babb. Burial was in St. Gregory’s Catholic Cemetery. Mary Ann was born April 30, 1933 at Axtell, KS, to Fred and Agnes (Poppleman) Ballman. She attended the Ruest School south of Vliets. She was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, Altar Society and American Legion Auxiliary. Mary Ann enjoyed playing bingo at the American Legion, Moose Club and Eagles Club in Wymore, NE. She enjoyed needlework projects and made quilts for gifts. Mary Ann worked as a caretaker for a family near Marysville. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Juanita Hogan; infant brother, John Ballman; and brother-in-law, Bobbie Babb. Survivors include two brothers, Bob (Judy) Ballman and Gerald (Marilyn) Ballman; sister, Rosalie Babb; brother-in-law, Marion “Mike” Hogan, all of Marysville; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established to St. Gregory's Catholic School. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
