Geraldine Elaine McDonald, 75, passed away Friday Jan. 23, 2009 at Fort Worth, TX. A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville. The Rev. Dale Lewis officiated. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Elaine was born September 22, 1933 in Marysville, KS, daughter of the late Maude and Harvey Dam. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1951. She was employed with the Federal Government in Portland, OR, Kansas City, MO, Omaha, NE, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Fort Worth, Texas from which she retired in 1996. Elaine resided the past 20 years in Ft.Worth and shared many wonderful and special years with her loving husband T. J. Burckart. She was a cherished mother to two sons and a daughter, and a beloved Grandmother to three grandsons. Her family meant the world to her and she was happiest when spending time with them or speaking with them across the miles. She has been a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. Elaine was preceded in death by her brothers, Lee and Bud Dam of Marysville, KS. Survivors include her husband, TJ Burckart; two sisters, Marilyn Crimmins of Arvada, CO, and Marjorie Dam of Kansas City, KS; one sister-in-law, Jeanne Dam of Marysville, KS; two sons, Steve McDonald and wife Karen of Fairfield, CA, and Reg McDonald of Portland, OR; one daughter, Bobbi Farrell and husband Steve of Ft.Worth, TX, three grandsons, Colin McDonald and wife Jenna of Los Angeles, CA, Bryan McDonald of San Diego, CA, and Clint Farrell of Fort Worth, TX; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and families. A memorial fund in memory of Elaine McDonald has been set up at Kinsley Mortuary for the Marysville High School music department or donations may be made to the JCM Foundation Fund for Pancreatic Cancer Research, John Hopkins University. http://jcmfoundation.com/
