Mary M. Hook

Mary Margaret O'Toole Hook, 70, Marysville, died June 27th at the Blue Valley Nursing Home in Blue Rapids. A rosary service was held at 7:00 p.m., July 1st at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Marysville. A Christian Mass was held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 2nd at St. Gregory's Catholic Church. Mary Margaret O'Toole was born on November 9, 1944 in Marysville, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Droegemueller) O'Toole. She attended the Thomas School District #95 from 1st through 8th grade. In 1962, she graduated from Marysville High School. She worked in Marysville nursing homes for 48 years as a CMA. Her last several years of work were spent caring for the residents in Assisted Living at Cambridge Place. She was an avid reader, a fan and collector of Elvis memorabilia, and greatly enjoyed going with friends on bus trips to area casinos. Survivors include daughter, Kelly Musgrove, West Des Moines, IA; son, Jerry Gose, Jr. (Lacy), Beatrice, NE; four grandchildren, Ryan and Taryn, West Des Moines, IA, and Joseph and Samantha, Beatrice, NE; two great-grandchildren; five brothers, Joseph O'Toole, Jr., Frankfort, Bill O'Toole (Brenda), Marysville, Vince O'Toole (Phyllis), Marysville, Fred O'Toole, Stuart, FL, Frank O'Toole, Davenport, IA; two sisters, Bridget Davis, Marysville, and Kathleen Laws, Lincoln, NE; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her companion, Thomas P. Hook; parents, Joseph & Margaret O'Toole Sr.; and her brother, Lawrence. "In her continued spirit of giving, she donated her body to science for research". Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
