Karen Sue Huddleston, 68, Marysville, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, died peacefully, surrounded by family, July 27, 2015 at her home. Visitation is Friday, July 31, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 1 at Kinsley Mortuary. Elder Kelly Prinkki of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints will officiate. Musicians will be Eric, Melissa, and Jacob Childs, and Brittany Lamb. The hymns will be “Come, Come Ye Saints” and “O My Father.” The pallbearers will be Justin Kracht, Logan Kracht, Ben Huddleston, Elliott Gillum, Jordan Moore and Jacob Childs. The honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Childs, Jeffery Gillum, Woody Walstrom, Wally Walstrom, David Dettke and Walt Rudolph. Burial will be in the Marysville City Cemetery. Karen was born December 9, 1946 in Marysville to Frederich Theodore and Jean (Schiermeyer) Germer. In 1964, she graduated from Marysville High School and then attended a business college in Topeka. On October 14, 1966 she married Robert Stretch at Windsor, IL. They later divorced. On June 28, 1975 she married Edgar Huddleston at Manhattan, KS. Although Multiple Sclerosis affected her health and mobility, Karen had various jobs and did babysitting. She crocheted and made blankets for her children and grandchildren. She loved to travel on vacations and square dance. Karen would play kick ball with the children, read and enjoyed watching television. She liked genealogy and working on her family history. Karen was very dedicated to her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints and she enjoyed working at the Temple and indexing records for family history. Christmas was a special time of year for her. She would have her family home for the holidays and they would share favorite stories of the past and present. Survivors include her husband, Edgar Huddleston, Marysville; children, Angela (John) Moore, Cooperstown, ND, Melissa (Eric) Childs, Junction City, Ruth (Dennis) Kracht, Marysville, David (Susan) Huddleston, Wamego, and Kelley (Dennis) Gillum, Kansas City, MO; sisters, Patti (Ron) Scheibmeir, Topeka, and Connie (Jim) Richardson, Marysville; brothers, Joe (Patty) Germer, Marysville, Jim (Jean) Germer, Gardner, and Jon (Deb) Germer, Ralston, NE; sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial fund has been established to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
