Calvin D. Hadorn 90, formerly of Marysville died August 8, 2015 at the Salina Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Evangelical United Church of Christ, Marysville, Kansas. Visitation is Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary with the family receiving friends that evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Marysville City Cemetery. Calvin was born October 27, 1924, to John Hadorn and Lulu Hadorn in Frankfort and was a graduate of Beattie High School. He often spoke about riding his horse to school and the many pranks his friends played on him. His nicknames were “Red”, “Rusty” and “Cal.” He loved to hunt, garden, tinker on his farm, bee keep and crack walnuts. He married Margie Hadde on Aug. 3, 1956. She survives and lives at the Presbyterian Manor in Salina. Margie and Calvin lived in Marysville for most of their 59 years of marriage, owning a shoe shop, farming, and finally selling advertising for the Marysville Advocate. Calvin worked at the Marysville Advocate for more than 22 years and served in the Army during WWII from 1942-45 receiving the Bronze Star, WWII Victory medal and Good Conduct Medal. Survivors include his wife, Margie; four children, Larry Hadorn, Beatrice, NE, David (Cathy) Hadorn, Salina, Bob (Julia) Hadorn, Olathe, Lisa (Scott) Albright of Louisburg; ten grandchildren: Lindsay, Jon, Chelsea, James, Christina, Megan, Bennie, Trevor, Lilie and Emma; and he was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren: Mia, Hayden, Brynn, Maddix, Holden, Ray, Reese, Nolan and Miles. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions to Presbyterian Manor’s Employee Christmas Fund in Salina, Kan., or the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville.
