Albert A. Maas, Jr., 89, of Frankfort, KS, died Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at the Frankfort Community Care Home. Visitation will be Monday, September 7, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort. A rosary service will begin at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 8 at Annunciation Catholic Church. Father Daniel Schmitz will officiate. The musicians will be Jane Sedlacek and Rheta Matson. Music will include “Here I Am Lord”, “You Are Mine”, “Morning Has Broken” and “On Eagles Wings”. The pallbearers will be Brian Maas, John Anthony Cubit, Mike Maas, Dan Kopp, Jake Grohmann, and Brennan Kalis. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Frankfort. Albert was born October 3, 1925 at Kansas City, MO, son of Albert A. and Rose Anne (Smith) Maas, Sr. He sold office equipment in the Kansas City area. From 1970-82 he farmed near Frankfort. In 1982, he became a feed salesman for Suther Feed in Frankfort. On August 30, 1947, he married Margaret Ann Ferguson at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Kansas City, MO. She preceded him in death on June 10, 1981. On April 15, 1983, he married Ramona L. Gaston at First Presbyterian Church in Frankfort, KS. She preceded him in death on April 26, 2007. Albert was a member of Knights of Columbus, Annunciation Catholic Church, and Leo McMinimy American Legion, all in Frankfort. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He enjoyed visiting, traveling and taking his RV south in the winters, playing cards, music and dancing. Survivors include his children, Rose Anne (Del) Schmidt, Kansas City, MO, Frank (Jane) Maas, Mission, KS, Vince (Anne) Maas, Kansas City, MO, Joe (Patty) Maas, Frankfort, KS, Mary (John) Cubit, Garnett, KS, Steve (Patty) Maas, Gardner, KS, Therese (Carl) Kopp, Beattie, KS, Dan (Laura) Maas, Smithville, MO, Elaine (Nick) Havel, Wichita, KS, Phil (Agnes) Maas, Frankfort, KS, Jim (Dhonna) Maas, Hoyt, KS, Margaret (Tony) Scardino, Overland Park, KS, and Christine (Rob) Kalis, Overland Park, KS; step-daughters, Geneva Carr and JoAnn Gaston; sister, Mary Catherine DeMaranville, Roeland Park, KS; thirty-four grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Margaret Ann and Ramona L.; and an infant daughter, Marie Ellen Maas on July 18, 1958. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established to Knights of Columbus Ultrasound Initiative. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel.
