Carol A. McQuery, 65, Marysville, died Sunday, February 15, 2009, at Community Memorial Healthcare. A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 18, at the First Christian Church in Marysville. The Rev. Jerry Zanker officiated. Deb Landoll played the organ and Pat Breeding sang “Precious Lord” and “Amazing Grace.” Pallbearers were Jason Thomas, Brad Durham, David Hartsook, Randy Schultz, Roy Carpenter and Jami Baloun. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Carol was born January 29, 1944 at Hanover, the daughter of Lewis and Henrietta (Strathman) Carpenter. She attended Hanover High School. On October 13, 1962 she married Wesley McQuery. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, flowers and gardening and pet animals. Survivors include two daughters, Lesa Rendell of Cordele, GA, and Darcie Meeks of Marysville; one son, Darren of Harrington, DE; one brother, Roy Carpenter of Kansas City; three sisters, Betty White of Garland, TX, Kaye Garrett of Scottsdale, AZ, and Lou Schultz, Crab Orchard, NE; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Bert Carpenter. A memorial fund has been established and contributions may be sent in care of the mortuary.
