Stanley Reed, 58, of Winifred, KS, died Friday, September 11, 2015 at his home. Visitation will be Monday, September 14, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 15 at the Beattie Community Center in Beattie, KS. Rev. Shirley Edgerton will officiate. The honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren: Ashton O’Toole, Jackson O’Toole, Maddox O’Toole, Ellarie Claycamp, Kadin Claycamp, Trayton Claycamp, and Kinsley Claycamp. Private burial will be in the Greenleaf Cemetery. Stan was born November 28, 1956 at Clay Center, KS, son of Arlo and Martha (McGrath) Reed. In 1974, he graduated from Linn High School. After high school he worked for the Linn Locker, Landoll Corporation, Dunlap Utilities, Smart Truck Line, Home City Grain and Lewis Seed and Fertilizer. Stan enjoyed tractor pulls, fishing, collecting guns, smoking meats, visiting and helping his many friends, Christmas shopping for his wife, and spending time with his grandchildren. On May 15, 1982 he married Margaret Griffee at the Beattie United Methodist Church. She survives. Other survivors include his three daughters, Dena (Joseph) O’Toole, Blue Rapids, KS, Kelly (Timothy) Claycamp, Blue Rapids, and Tobi (Shawn) McMahon, Marysville; sister, Cheryle Glanzier; two step-brothers, Travis Reed, Topeka, and Jared Reed, Nevada; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant twin children; infant siblings, Beverly and Arlin Reed; and a grandchild, Samuel O’Toole. A memorial fund has been established to the Blue Rapids Swimming Pool Fund or Meadowlark Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
