Robert Fritschi, 85, of Hanover, KS, died Sunday, September 27, 2015 at his home. Visitation is Tuesday, September 29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hanover Mortuary in Hanover. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hanover. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 30, at St. John’s Catholic Church. Father David Metz will officiate. Rosemary Forst will play the organ while the church choir sings “Come to Me”, “Old Rugged Cross”, “Unless a Grain of Wheat”, “Song of Farewell”, and “Precious Lord”. The pallbearers will be Jacob Fritschi, Clinton Fritschi, Ethan Fritschi, Adam Fritschi, Bennett Bargdill, and John Parsley. The honorary pallbearers will be Jim Martin, Joe Klecan, Ryan Mueller, Harold Travelute, and Pat Mueller. Burial will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Hanover. Robert was born June 2, 1930 at Washington, KS, to Elgie and Catherine (Steinlein) Fritschi. He attended the St. John Catholic Grade School. Robert served with the military during the Korean Conflict. On January 20, 1960, Robert was united in marriage to Loretta Grell. He was a lifelong farmer and stockman in the Hanover area. Robert was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and served on the St. John’s Cemetery Board as sexton. He belonged to the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans Association. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Barbara Bergen, Mary Harries and Josephine Fritschi. Survivors include his wife, Loretta; son, Martin (Janet) Fritschi, Hanover; daughter, Mary Ann (Gary) Bargdill, Blue Rapids; sister, Theresa Rettele, Hiawatha; five grandsons, two granddaughters and four great grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of the Hanover Mortuary.
