Evelyn M. Gleue, 90, of Bremen, KS, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5 at Immanuel Lutheran Hermansberg Church, 3 miles northeast of Bremen. The Rev. Jack Kirk officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Dayna Scheele played the organ while the church choir sang “Take Thou My Hand” and “Lead Me.” The congregation sang “Heaven Is My Home,” “Abide with Me” and “Precious Lord.” Pallbearers were Ryan Gleue, Robert Lochman, Scott Myers, Mike Leseberg, Carl Beyer Jr. and Richard Leseberg. Evelyn Gleue was born May 3, 1918 at Bremen, the daughter of Louis and Anna Saathoff Leseberg. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1937. She married Paul Gleue on June 6, 1938. She was an insurance claims secretary for Bremen Mutual. She was a member of Immanuel ladies aid, Bremen garden club, Bremen social club, Hanover American Legion Auxiliary and was a 4-H club leader. She enjoyed flowers, quilting, knitting and crocheting. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Anne Korleski of Clear Lake, IA, and Lois Lochman of Independence, MO; one son, Robert Gleue of Bremen; one brother, Edwin Leseberg of Wymore, NE; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Lillian Beyer-Kadlec; and one brother, Wallace Leseberg. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Evelyn M.
