Robert L. Polson, 75, Vermillion died November 20, 2015, at his home. Funeral services will be at the Christian Church in Vermillion 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2015. Rev. Virgil Warren will officiate. Jane Sedlacek is organist and the congregation will sing “In the Garden” and “How Great Thou Art.” Visitation will be Tuesday from noon until 8:00 p.m. at Padden Funeral Chapel of Frankfort, Kansas. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. that evening at the mortuary. Pallbearers are Maurice Bergman, Steve Bergman, Dale Shirley, Craig Polson, Kent Stowell and Larry Schroeder. Honorary Pallbearers are Lonnie Jones, Jerry Jones, Alf Engelken, Jim Cornelison, Jim Harper, Sonny Bouren, Jack Boyle and Jim Woolsoncroft. Burial will be in Vermillion Cemetery. Robert was born December 25, 1939 in Axtell, Kansas the son of Victor and Ida Lew Polson. He graduated in 1958 at Vermillion High School. Bob was a member of the National Guard and 38 years with the American Legion Post #257. He was past board member of Salem Lutheran Church and was baptized, confirmed and married there to Sharon Scott on July 20, 1968. Robert farmed most of his life. Survivors are his wife Sharon Polson of Vermillion; and four sons, Michael of Sioux City, Bradley of Manhattan, Todd of Ozawkie and Travis of Vermillion.
