Leona Hermina Grote

Leona Hermina Pralle Grote, 93, of Hanover, KS, died early Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Hanover Hospital. A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 18 at Immanuel Lutheran Church Hermansberg north-east of Bremen. Burial was in the church cemetery. Leona was born October 9, 1915 near Bremen, KS, the daughter of Karl and Anna (Hornbostel) Pralle. On November 27, 1938 she married Albert Grote at Bremen. Leona enjoyed quilting, gardening, baking and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert in 1991; one sister, Edna Dierking; and five brothers, Clarence, Gilbert, Edgar, Elmer and Victor Pralle. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Williams of Downs, KS; one sister, Lulu Hiestermann of Hanover; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
