Johnny V. Mullins, 44, of Marysville, KS, died Saturday, March 28, 2009. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 2, at the American Legion in Marysville. Chaplain LPC (Ret) Larry Parrish will officiate. Tam Johnson will play the organ while Wayne Kruse sings "You Walk With Me" and "To Where You Are". The congregation will sing "Amazing Grace". Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 1, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family will receive friends between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Pallbearers will be Dan Buck, Eric Heisermann, Eric Grubbs, Tom Regan, Richard Kyle, Greg Crumbly, Donnie Tryon, Mike Maschmeier and Bruce Maschmeier. Burial will be in the Marysville City Cemetery. Johnny was born August 6, 1964 in Paragould, AR, the son of Frankie DeWayne and Glenda (West) Mullins. He graduated from Paragould High School in 1983. On November 24, 2003 he married Tami Whitlinger at Marietta, KS. Johnny was a quality assurance inspector for the A-Team on Ft. Riley. He was NBC Sergeant for Alpha battery, 2nd 130th FA. During 2004-2005 he deployed to Iraq with A-2nd 130th FA. He was a member of the Marysville Volunteer Fire Department since 2003, a charter member and Treasurer of the American Legion Post #163 Riders, American Legion, and a member of the Kansas Patriot Guard. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Johnathan Mullins of Dallas, OR, and Jesse Mullins of Solomon, KS; one daughter, Samantha Mullins of Solomon, KS; one stepdaughter, Terra Linck of Marysville; one stepson, Patrick Linck of Marysville; mother, Glenda Mullins of Paragould, AR; stepfather, Rodney Gossett of Marmaduke, AR; one brother, Robbie Mullins of Paragould, AR; and two grandchildren, Colby and Madilynne Mullins, both of Dallas, OR. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Cora Mae West. A memorial fund has been established to his children’s educational fund. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
