Marion E. Musil, 89, of Frankfort, KS, died Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Frankfort Community Care Home. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 6, at the United Methodist Church in Frankfort. The Rev. Norma Jeane Miller officiated. Marion was born September 24, 1919 north of Frankfort, the son of Joseph and Rose (Stritesky) Musil. He attended Little Timber Grade School and graduated from Frankfort High School in 1938. During WWII he served in the U.S. Army Air Force between October 1942 until February 1946. Marion was a member of the American Legion Post #181 in Frankfort where he recently received his 60 year membership certificate. He also served as a 4-H Community Leader, Wells Township Board Member, USD 380 School Board Member, and a member of the Frankfort United Methodist Church since 1954 where he served on several committees. On July 29, 1945 he was united in marriage to Ruth Huff. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Tami Musil of Raytown, MO; two sons, Gary Musil and wife Connie of Frankfort, and Greg Musil of Overland Park, KS; one brother, Adolph Musil of Minneapolis, KS; and five grandchildren, Adam Musil of Emerald Hills, CA, Carly Hill and husband Clayton of Hays, KS, Taylor Musil of Frankfort, Elizabeth Musil of Lawrence, and Madeline Musil of Overland Park. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Joe, Dan and George Musil. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date.
