Winifred L. Nietfeld

Winifred L. Nietfeld, 87, Marysville, died Thursday, December 3,2015 at Cambridge Place. Visitation was Sunday, December 6, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A rosary service was held at 7 p.m., Sunday, December 6, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 7 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church. Father Jim Shaughnessy officiated. Burial was in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery. Winifred was born to Joseph and Marie (Nieberding) Nietfeld on March 30, 1928 at Marysville. She graduated high school and attended Lincoln School of Commerce in Lincoln, NE. After completing school, Winifred worked for Nebraska Public Power District, 3 years before returning to Kansas and working as an office manager for Wassenberg Bottling Company. She was a member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Daughter of Isabella, Schroyer Homemakers, St. Gregory’s Altar Society and a woman’s card club. Her family and church were very important to her, as well as looking up family genealogy and St. Gregory Church history. Survivors include her brother, John (Bernice) Nietfeld, Marysville; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Paul Nietfeld; and niece, Lucile Nietfeld Jenkins.
