Erna L. Schramm, 81, of Marysville died Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church north-east of Hanover, KS. The Rev. Rodney Fritz officiated. Arlyce Klipp played the organ while the choir sang "On Eagles' Wings" and the congregation sang "Asleep in Jesus", "What a Friend We Have in Jesus", "Just As I Am" and "I Am Content". Pallbearers were Wayne Adam, Roger Schramm, Kenny Schramm, Gary Schramm, Brad Schramm and Dennis Minge. Burial was in the church cemetery. Erna was born July 14, 1927 near Bremen, KS, the daughter of William and Caroline (Moehlenbrink) Schramm. She was Baptized into the Christian faith on July 24, 1927 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bremen, by the Rev. J. V. Kauffeld. Her sponsors were Katharine Moehlenbrink and Caroline Adam. Erna was Confirmed in her faith on April 6, 1941 at Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dr. William Mahler. She attended the Sunflower School north of Hanover and Trinity Lutheran School. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and ejoyed gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Adelia Meyer; brother-in-law, Gustav Meyer; and brother, Gilbert Schramm. She is survived by her brother, Vernon Schramm of Marysville. A memorial fund has been designated to the church. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
