Laura Ann Baca, 77, died Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Cambridge Place, Marysville, KS. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, January 22, 2016 at Kinsley Mortuary. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 23 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Marysville. Burial was private. Laura was born on February 23, 1938 at San Bernardino, CA to Elliott Loren and Ruth Irene (McCoy) Bemis. She was united in marriage to Leo Frank Baca on April 22, 1960 at San Bernardino, CA. She worked as a florist for six years, when first married. They had 3 children, Nicholas, Timothy and Debra. Laura taught Sunday school for thirty-four years. In February of 2002, they moved to Marysville and she taught art’s and craft’s at Good Shepherd Lutheran School. Celebrating birthdays, holidays or any family gathering, were especially important to her. Enjoyments include fishing, scrapbooking, sewing, arts and crafts, traveling and cooking. She was a generous, loving and caring person. Preceding her in death were her parents. Survivors include her husband, Leo; children, Nicholas Baca, Marysville, Timothy Baca, Ogden, UT, Debra (John) Macy, Marysville; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A memorial fund is established to Good Shepherd Lutheran School. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
